As Mother’s Day approaches, I find myself reflecting — not only as a physician, entrepreneur, and founder — but as a woman who, like so many others, has lived many forms of motherhood.
In medicine, women have always cared. We are caregivers, leaders, teachers, and healers — often stepping outside the statistics, carrying others while continuing to forge paths of excellence ourselves.
And still, society tries to put us into narrow boxes.
At Colorchain, we design for the women who break them.
We launched our brand in both Colombia and the United States with a clear mission: to design apparel specifically for women physicians.
We are not unisex.
We are intentional.
We create premium medical apparel as strong, elegant, and thoughtful as the women who wear it — understanding every step, every sacrifice, every dream stitched into their stories.
(And yes — we know what women love — pockets!)
But our designs go deeper than function. They recognize the depth of care, leadership, and personal identity our customers bring to every role they inhabit.
Motherhood comes in many forms.
For years, I prioritized my career, believing — as many of us are led to believe — that professional excellence left no room for family, children, or anything beyond achievement.
I did not realize at the time that I was already a mother:
Then, in 2023, at 36 years old, while building Colorchain from the ground up, I welcomed my son — the most tangible, beautiful representation of every sacrifice, every decision, and every dream I had made along the way.
Yes, we can have it all.
But no one tells you how hard it truly is.
How much it takes to dream, to fight, to build, to nurture, to lead — often all at once.
Motherhood isn’t just biology.
Motherhood is creation.
It’s leadership.
It’s advocacy.
It’s resilience.
This is my love letter to every woman physician who nurtures, builds, teaches, leads, and heals — often while the world asks her to do the impossible.
To every woman whose “family” may not look traditional, but whose care shapes the lives of others in visible and invisible ways.
To every woman who continues to break barriers — professionally and personally.
